Slow Food and the City of Bra will be throwing an extra-special
Dairy Aversano ready for the fair
10.09.2017
The 2015 edition closed with numbers that we hadn’t expected, with 270.000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors from 23 nations, proof of the event’s international character.
But Cheese is not just an event for its crowd. It is a platform for important political messages, like the petition against powdered milk we launched in 2015, collecting over 150,000 signatures on change.org.
Over the years, Slow Food has always supported high quality artisan productions, promoting raw milk, the biodiversity of breeds, our connection to land, animal welfare, respect for the landscape and the expertise required to make cheese, showing how all of these elements are essential characteristics of the most interesting and complex cheeses.
In the 2017 edition, we will maintain our strong commitment to a subject that has been a constant cornerstone of the event: raw milk products. Another theme is naturalness (cheese made without industrial yeasts, but also extending to other products, including cured meats and wine), which will also be the subject of conferences and workshops.
